START UP GRANT
The purpose of the start-up grant is not to be a business grant but an optional grant, which is granted to an entrepreneur starting a business, in order to secure his livelihood in the beginning stage of setting up a business. Conditions concerning granting of start up grant
1. The applicant has entrepeneurship experience or the necessary training in business operations. 2. The applicant is seen as possessing the necessary requirements for maintaining the business. 3. The business has chance of being profitable. 4. The applicant does not receive government subsidy for own labor costs. 5. The applicant does not receive daily unemployment benefit or financial aid for the same period. 6. Business operations have not been started before the grant has been decided upon. 7. Business operations would evidently not be started without the applicant receiving the grant. 8. The grant does not distort the competition between similar products or services.
Granting of the start up grant to other applicants than unemployed job seekers
The start up grant may be granted not only to unemployed job seekers, but also to persons who are changing from working, studying or domestic work in to full time entrepreneurship. The granting of start up grant to the above-mentioned persons does not require registering as a job seeker or creating a job search plan. The person is registered as a personal client.
The conditions for receiving start up grant are that the applicant does not receive during this period the following:
1. Salary or compensation for work performed not concerning the entrepeneurship. 2. Retirement-, disability- or unemployment pension, closure pension. 3. Health insurance law based: maternity benefit, special maternity benefit, paternity benefit, or child support, sickness benefit or special treatment allowance. 4. Rehabilitation grant or aid. 5. Study grant.
The applicant is not required to end his work, studies or school. The conditions of the grant are that the applicant does not receive any of the above mentioned grants. |
